Custom domain CNAME IONOS (1&1)

Hi guys, I am stack becasue i have already created a subdomain in Ionos (1&1) but I dont know how to configure the cname. this is what i did:

What i did wrong?

I have already done the connection. However I am so confused.

I have my frontend in www.example.com

What i want is that my backend which is in PA can be called by the frontend as www.api.example.com instead of myuser/pythonanywhere.com

However when I configured the CNAMe and if I go to www.api.example.com I am redirected to www.example.com. So it is like if whatever i have in Pythonanywhere doesn't exist .

Why this thing is happening? help please
