My website is down and there is no trace of any of my source files or directories visible from the dashboard.

I have been wiped out.

I can't connect to mysql.

I assume this is another problem at your end.

Same here, no site, no files, everything is down...

I emailed support at 3:14 about it. Before that pythonanywhere.com was down no forums etc, got that 502-backend error.

Everything vanished and lost!

My website is still down & the clicking on it error log gets a 404.

The timing of this is a lot worse than 3am.

It was another database outage -- we're working with AWS to find out what the underlying cause of these is and how we can mitigate it, because it's unacceptable.

The DB outage triggered a cascade of errors that took out some of our storage servers, and then some over-enthusiastic error recovery code on the web and console servers mean that because it couldn't show you the data that was on the storage servers that were down, it showed you a blank home directory. Which of course is much worse than seeing an error page because it makes it look like your data is gone.

Your data was safe at all times. And everything should be back now -- let us know if you're still seeing anything strange.
