Setting up CNAME on ionos

Hi everybody,

I am trying to connect my web app with my domain name (http://lesfilmsdeole.fr) on ionos. I added a CNAME entry with the webapp-xxx.pythonanywhere.com value but I can't access the website even though when I check on https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=cname%3awww.lesfilmsdeole.fr&run=toolpage#, the CNAME seems to be correctly set.

Do you see anything I could do wrong ?

Thanks

Everything looks OK at the moment -- perhaps it just took some time for the CNAME change to propagate across the Internet? It can sometimes take up to a day, depending on your TTL setting. (TTL is "Time To Live", which is an indication to DNS servers of how long they can cache the current values before asking the upstream servers for an update.)

Hi giles,

Thank you for your reply! That's right, I needed to be more patient. The old version of the website wasn't reachable anymore so I thought the propagation was done. But it was not. The only problem left is that the redirection from the root to the www subdomain doesn't work on HTTPS though it does work on HTTP
