I have configured the CNAME with my domain provider. www.mysmartrule.com points to varad.pythonanywhere.com

I have also followed all the steps. Still the domain is not linked and it says Unconfigured Domain.

Please help me out here...

Hi there -- custom domains are only available if you have a Web Developer or a Custom plan, not with Beginner accounts.
