When I access the .error.log file I sometimes get many screens full of ��� before the actual log messages. I looked at the log file with hd. Looks like some zeroes snuck in. Don't ask me how.

Thanks for reporting! We believe we have found a cause for this (it is potentially because multiple processes are writing to the error log at the same time) and are working on deploying the fix.
