curl failed

Hi,

We are from FrontSquare Company. We have started using PythonAnywhere to check if our project would be compatible.

After the very first curl command relating to our url: https://frontsquare.learnupon.com we are getting the following error message in bash terminal:

curl: (56) Received HTTP code 403 from proxy after CONNECT

Kindly let us know how to solve the above issue.

Thanks, FrontSquare Team

Hi there -- free PythonAnywhere accounts can only access external Internet sites via a proxy, which only gives access to sites on a whitelist. Paid accounts can access any external sites.

Normally we'll only add sites to the whitelist if they have an API or other reasons why it's likely to be OK for all of our free users to have access to them. Is there an API at https://frontsquare.learnupon.com that people will be accessing?

Hi,

Thanks for the information, I guess there are few API's in www.learnupon.com used by few people.

Kindly, let us know if your are adding them onto your Whitelist or not.

Thanks, FrontSquare Team

If you're using a free account to assess the suitability of PA before potentially getting a paid account, it might also be worth noting that PA offers a no-quibble money-back guarantee if you decide it's not suitable and cancel your paid account within the first 30 days. Also, there's no tie-in, you can cancel at any time, so a few dollars a month may be a worthwhile investment to assess PA's full potential without the free account limitations (unless you're planning to use free accounts permanently, in which case I guess you'd want to stick to them).

Looking at learnupon.com, I can't really see a public API. If you are trying to evaluate PythonAnywhere using a free account drop us a line at support@pythonanywhere.com and we might be able to turn a few things on temporarily for you.

We are not sure about PA so we first would like to evaluate... Thanks Hansel, we shall mail you...

Great, look forward to it.
