PythonAnywhere has been extremely slow for the past few hours — all of my web apps are unresponsive.

I also can’t open the PythonAnywhere website itself. It shows this error:

“Something went wrong :-(

PythonAnywhere is having some issues. Our ever-vigilant sysadmins have been notified and are on the case. Please try again in a little while.”

I felt the same way. They should report these issues to professional websites so that we know what to tell our customers, whether this will happen again, when it will be fixed, etc.

I'm also running into issues on my web apps and PA is running quite slow for me as well. Any insights?

I'm also experiencing this issue...

I am also suffering from the same issues. Extreme slowdowns and full down time.

Me too.... And I again didn't receive any e-mail notification. I also just checked the X-Page, that was recommended from pythonanywhere staff during the last downtime: https://x.com/pythonanywhere

And there is no information there about what is going on and how long it will take either.

It's perfectly okay that you carry out planned and occasional unplanned maintenance work like every other cloud computing platform has to. But we really need to be informed about it, otherwise your service is completely useless because you can't build a stable professional web app with it in my opinion, if you don't know whether it actually will work tomorrow or not and you don't know and can't implement error handling.

I have already pointed out several times that I definitely want to be informed about such things—this has not happened to date, even after the fifth downtime. I am just told again and again that I have to check the notification box. But this box is definitely checked for me, and I find it somewhat questionable that you get dozens of emails about every marketing stuff no one really needs to know, but not about something material as a downtime over multible hours during regular business hours on a Monday.

Python anywhere seems to be down.

Same problem for everyone, but I think it was a DDoS attack.

I'm a long-time user here and this usually happens due to a massive DDoS attack or a problem with Amazon AWS.

Algunas veces muuuuy lento, otras veces dice: "Este sitio web no puede proporcionar una conexión segura", otras veces directamente no carga. ¿pueden darme un link donde pueda ver el estado del servicio en tiempo real? muchas gracias.

But I think it's back to normal now, apparently.

I restarted my app and it's back.

la mia aun no funciona

I am getting 404 on my app

My app went down for 1 hour and 38 minutes earlier today and I am assuming that was when PythonAnywhere also was down because I did not make any changes to my app. I got mostly timeouts but also 2 SSL connection errors.

PythonAnywhere is still running slowly, I haven't received any notification as to why or what's happening... It's been malfunctioning for a day now.

It is extremely slow. This problem has been occurring since yesterday.

also my website is super slow and not responsive, all my customers suffer and cant use it, is there any official update PYTHONANYWHERE side ?

i also have this problem

I would be really glad to have updates from the PythonAnywhere team. ❤️‍

During a large DDoS attack (which caused the outage two days ago), we made changes to our infrastructure to handle it. However, it appears that those changes had an effect that caused the shorter outage yesterday. We have identified the cause and enabled a fix for it. Sorry for the disruptions.

Guys, has there been any update on why this is happening?

its down again, this is not good at all

We are still working through the possible issues after the DDoS attack. We will continue to work on it an monitor

Is it down again? My web app has been unresponsive for quite some time now.

yea, same here
