Unable to use STMP - Connection unexpectedly closing (this was literally working yesterday and nothing was changed)

title says it all.

this is literally all I am given in the error log:

2025-06-03 17:11:40,159: Error sending email: Connection unexpectedly closed

please tell me if more information is needed- I doubt a single random message from a log is sufficient enough for anyone to determine why this would happen
