Always on task - how to stop?

Hello everyone! I had an error in my bot and now cannot stop the script. Is it possible to cancel somehow the execution of the code?

The bottons delete task or edit does not work and the status is always Preparing to start. The last in the logs:

Mar 11 05:51:58 requests.exceptions.ConnectionError: HTTPSConnectionPool(host='api.telegram.org', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /bot7299986110:AAEi5IXpE7YxIEBSWhA-x34ZlRnQA_lyHJs/getUpdates?offset=531376972&timeout=5 (Caused by NewConnectionError('<urllib3.connection.HTTPSConnection object at 0x7c6f163dcc70>: Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno -2] Name or service not known')) Mar 11 05:51:58 " Mar 12 07:01:22 Terminated

I have the same issue . My script is stuck at "Preparing to start..." and I can't do nothing..

I have this also with all of my scripts, need a solution ASAP as down time is now at 50 minutes

Solution for me was to downgrade from 10 always on tasks to 1, then upgrade back to 10. Couldn't afford the downtime

mine is stuck at "Preparing to start..." too... why??

I think it is a system error on the side of pythonanywhere...

same problem, showing "Preparing to start" state

Same is here since 7:41 server time.

mine is running normally now.

I still have the same problem. Had to start through console

Sorry about that. We had a system upgrade this morning and always-on tasks sometimes take a bit longer to start up again.

i also have this problem. i cant stop the tasks and rectified my issue of " permission denied". Please help me. Thank you

I have the same problem do you know when i will be able to delete my always on task or to edit it to correct my bug ? Thanx

Some are taking longer than others, but it should be resolved soon.

This has happened again.

All stuck in 'preparing to start' - yet when i manually start a new always on task, it works fine.

What is really annoying here is that the ' X ' icon is greyed out. If this was accessible while the code was in 'preparing to start' status, we could easily kill them and force a re-start.

We are doing a deploy and always on tasks will take a little time to restart in the new system

Same Problem!

How stop and start new task???? This hasn't been working for over an hour.

My always on tasks are stuck and downtime for more than an hour... when do you expect to fix this?

Same. Please resolve this urgently, my current work is being hampered because of this.

I am already using just 1 always on task. Do you know if there is any other way to force restart?

How do I stop them just hanging?

del

Sorry @glenn this is not really good enough. I've had to do the upgrade and downgrade account, but it leaves one task hanging approx 3-4hrs later in 'preparing to start'.

The fact that the other tasks then start up fine when done manually by upgrading/downgrading account, tells me that this is not the most efficient way of doing things.

Could we look to find a better fix for this than just wait a number of hours? This could be the killer that makes me leave PA despite it being perfect in all other ways.

I can't afford random downtime of up to 3,4,5,6+ hours just waiting for tasks to re start. I can stomach 0-30 mins

As part of planned maintenance following today’s deployment, we’re restarting all Always-on tasks. Restarts are processed in queued batches to keep the platform stable, so there may be a delay before your tasks are running again. They will resume automatically — no action needed on your side. We are working on a better solution for the future. Sorry for the disruption, and thanks for your patience!

Hey pafk thanks for getting back - even a proper heads up via email that his is happening would really help.

Then I will deploy the downgrade and upgrade account trick but know it is coming.

Surely for the long term there must be a better way; every time you do this you'll get the same forum influx.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, we are working on better solution.
