MySQL access denied?

Today I'm unable to open a mysql console. none of my scripts can access the database either.

I started getting error notifications in the afternoon. It looks like the MySQL backend went down, twice.

We did have some database problems over the weekend. AWS rebooted it a few times without asking. It's up and running now.
