ssh: connect to host ssh.pythonanywhere.com port 22: Connection refused

I'm following this guide https://blog.pythonanywhere.com/87/ and I'm getting a port 22: Connection refused. when I check SSH access ssh-v myusername@ssh.pythonanywhere.com Any ideas what I'm doing wrong ?

It looks like you tried to ssh in using the wrong password six times in quick succession shortly before posting this, so our security systems blocked your IP address for an hour. You were unblocked about an hour later, so you should be able to connect again now -- make sure that the password you use is the one you would use to log in to our website.

Thank you so much, it's working now cheers

This may have happened to me as well. Would you mind unblocking my connection? Thanks.

as a free user, you cannot ssh in-- only paying users have ssh access

Then put that in the error message so you don't waste your customers time. If you care about that sort of thing.

I was not able to login ssh with my account password and then get the 'connection refused' message as the user above. I have an OTP login does follow another login password?

If you'd like to login without a password you can set up ssh keys - https://help.pythonanywhere.com/pages/SSHAccess/
