I doubt it but is there any way there is a snapshot/backup image of what was on our website?

Unfortunately not for your files. We keep a live synced backup of your storage so that if a disk crashes we don't lose any data, but that means that if you accidentally delete something the deletion will also be synced :-(

We can get snapshot backups of MySQL database data, though.

It's possible that we might be able to recover something now. Send us an email with the time at which you deleted the files (including the timezone) and we'll see what we can do.

A significant backup history (say 1month back) would be great, even as a paid option.

Accidental deletion (or edits gone wrong) being a certainty, I've automated synchronization between PA and a local directory, itself synced to Dropbox. Fairly easy to set up. I now sleep better :)

We have been thinking about offering backups as an additional, paid service.

A good, well tested backup is a great way to get better sleep.

It's something we're thinking about, but we don't have a timeline.
