I've just posted on our news blog about the outages we had on Friday and Saturday.

TL;DR: they were caused by the Amazon AWS problems that hit lots of other people.

I wonder what numbers of abstraction and redundancy the world will have 20 years from now.

I now look forward more than ever to PA's plans to multi-home the service to ensure it can survive such outages. Sad it's even necessary considering that is supposed to be one of the features of AWS!
