:( our mobile/ipad support isn't great. one thing you could do is to use an app like termius to ssh into a pythonanywhere console, but that's only available for paying users.

The fact that you suggested doing something that requires a paid account instead of the solution i found indicates that you are trying to sell me something
It just indicates that Conrad didn't know that the solution you found would work :-) Thanks for sharing it, we'll recommend it in future if anyone else has the same problem.

Actually, the consoles work perfectly fine in desktop mode if I use a physical keyboard
Even special keys such as ctrl and arrow keys work
