Python 2.x will no longer be supported by january 1st, 2020. I am posting about this because it's important that everyone knows about this, and I haven't seen any other forum topic or anything else on the website that talks about this. if you are still using python 2, then please switch to python 3 asap

there's a countdown at https://dull.pythonanywhere.com/page/lovecalc

oops, wrong url; its actually https://pythonclock.org/

kinda weird how nobody else has already posted about this

thank you so much for posting this. i had no idea that python 2.x is getting discontinued so soon

we need to spread the word to all PA users

Just to be clear, python2.7 will stop being maintained in 2020, but for our PythonAnywhere users who currently have python2.7 code etc, we will make sure that you will still be able to continue to use the same environment, run the same code on our platform.

It's just that going forward, all bugs / security fixes etc that python core developers push out would be only for python 3 and not for python 2.

If you are still using Python 1.0, then there is something wrong with you
