I created a new app but it's showing Coming Soon page

I upgraded my account to 2 web apps. Then created one more app (for which I have used a domain as per requirement but haven't pointed using CNAME yet). The app is created and it shows the CNAME URL to set to http://webapp-548698.pythonanywhere.com/ .

But http://webapp-548698.pythonanywhere.com/ is showing coming soon page only. Is it compulsory to point the domain name using CNAME to make this work?

Your need to point a CNAME at it. We do not serve the site at the webapp- domain, it's just a pointer for the DNS system, not a web address.
