Point Wordpress site to pythonanywhere database

I have a wordpress site that I would like to connect to my pythonanywhere database.

Wordpress uses a .php configuration file to manage database credentials that looks like:

// ** MySQL settings ** //
/** The name of the database for WordPress */
define( 'DB_NAME', 'example_database_name' );
/** MySQL database username */
define( 'DB_USER', 'db_username' );
/** MySQL database password */
define( 'DB_PASSWORD', 'not_my_real_pw' );
/** MySQL hostname */
define( 'DB_HOST', '10.X.X.X:3309' );
/** Database Charset to use in creating database tables. */
define( 'DB_CHARSET', 'utf8' );
/** The Database Collate type. Don't change this if in doubt. */
define( 'DB_COLLATE', '' );

I've read the post about external access to the database, but they don't appear to cover this scenario. (Or maybe I missed something)

You will need to use the SSH tunnel. How you would set that up in PHP is not something that we have any expertise in. See http://help.pythonanywhere.com/pages/AccessingMySQLFromOutsidePythonAnywhere/ and adapt it to your situation.
