Rust Support

I've heard that Rust (https://www.rust-lang.org/) is an excellent choice for writing compiled Python extensions. I would like to try that out, but unfortunately Rust isn't yet available on PythonAnywhere. Do you have an image with Rust and its package manager Cargo (https://github.com/rust-lang/cargo) already installed?

That's a possibility. We'll give it some thought.

Dear Glenn,

Are you still considering this?

It's certainly something we're considering, but it's not on the roadmap right now.

This was back in early 2019. It seems that rust has remained quite popular. I like to use Python anywhere as a testing ground for many things - not just Python code. I really like the way console windows work from the browser, and it would be great to be able to explore the Rust programming language via this environment.

Any changes since 2019?

Not yet.
